  • Those with skin that has sufficient elasticity.

What to Expect

Consultation

At your initial consultation, you will meet with a registered medical practitioner. During this appointment, your medical history, current health, and treatment objectives will be reviewed.

The doctor will assess whether this procedure may be appropriate for you and will explain what the procedure involves, including possible risks, side effects, and limitations. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and discuss any concerns.

Pre-Op

Before having surgery, there are important preparations to be made. You may be required to undergo various medical tests and evaluations to ensure you are physically ready for the procedure.

We will provide you with detailed pre-operative instructions, including guidelines on fasting and medication. You’ll also receive information on what to wear and any specific preparations needed for the day of the surgery. These protocols are in place to support patient safety and wellbeing and are important to follow.

The Procedure

The Vaser liposuction technique, performed under sedation, employs ultrasound to target and dissolve fat. A special solution is introduced to the chin/neck to minimise discomfort and bleeding, followed by the insertion of the Vaser probe to break down fat cells.

Collagen contraction for skin tightening is an additional benefit of the heat produced during the process. The liquefied fat is then extracted using suction from the targeted areas.

Aftercare & Recovery

Getting Home

You will be required to be collected by a responsible adult to stay with you for the remainder of the day and overnight. Even if you feel normal, your reaction time will be slower after receiving sedation medication.

Aftercare

  • After your procedure, you’ll receive comprehensive post-operative instructions for a smooth transition home.
  • We provide a 24/7 contact number for any post-surgery questions, ensuring you can always reach us.
  • Your post-surgery care will be overseen by your doctor, supported by our dedicated care team.

Recovery Timeline

Immediate Post-Procedure

You’ll be released into the care of a responsible adult family member or friend.

An overnight hospital stay is not required.

Once home, you must rest and take it easy.

First Two Weeks

Expect to experience some soreness and tenderness, but we’ll provide pain relief to minimise discomfort.

Compression garments are always worn post-procedure. For treatment on the chin/neck you will be required to wear a compression garment full-time for 1 week, and then part-time for another 2 weeks.

You should be able to start driving again after a few days.

During this time follow-up appointments will commence as organised by your care team.

Two Weeks & Beyond

Follow-up appointments will continue as necessary and are scheduled by your care team.

You must continue to wear your compression garments as directed.

A surgical review with your doctor takes place approximately 6-8 weeks post-procedure.

Full recovery occurs around the 6 week mark, with final results evident in 6-12 months.
